Looks like they aren't that fussed about how they do this year either really, as they have selected a mid-tempo plodder of a tune. Leonor Andrade is the singer, and she is competent enough, but the song "Ha um mar que nos separa" (There's a sea that separates us) just doesn't seem to go anywhere, and I fear that for another year that there will be more than a sea that separates Portugal from the final on Saturday night. Have a listen, and see what you think:
So what do our esteemed panel make of it?:
Asta Bjornsdottir: "I like this, actually, but......she looks very angry about something but the song sounds very light, there is something rough/tough missing. She‘s good but the song never really flies."
Hasse Skoldebjer: "I like her way more than the song, although the song is ok 5/10."
Annemieke Kelleter: "There's something about this song I really like but I prefer the first, more unpolished version. There could have been a bit more variety in it and she's not the worlds best singer but overall I quite like it. Only thing I'm worried about is that it seems to be quite forgettable."
Adam and Charlotte Lane: "Ticks some of the Eurovision boxes: she’s got a powerful voice; it’s got a predictable chord structure; but it’s just not making enough of an impact. She didn’t cope with the key change very well at all. 1/10."
Not a ringing endorsement then! What do you think about it? Leave us a comment to let us know!
